Hoarding Signage | YORK by GRAYA

How Joyprint Created Stunning Hoarding Signage for YORK by GRAYA

If you have been around New Farm lately, you might have noticed a striking hoarding signage that announces the upcoming luxury apartment project YORK by GRAYA. The project, designed by Bureau Proberts and developed by Graya, features five full-floor apartments with panoramic views of the Brisbane River and the city skyline.

The hoarding signage, which covers the entire frontage of the site at 299 Bowen Terrace, was created by Joyprint, a Brisbane-based signage company with over 20 years of experience in the industry. Joyprint specialises in high-quality signage solutions for various clients and projects, including construction hoarding, banners, showroom signage, shopfronts, and more.

The Design Concept

The design concept for the hoarding signage was inspired by the Art Deco style of the project, which features curved forms, geometric patterns, and elegant typography. The hoarding signage consists of three main elements:

  • A large banner skin that displays the project name, logo, website, and contact details, as well as a render of the building facade and a floor plan of one of the apartments. The banner skin is printed on high-quality vinyl material that is weather-resistant and durable. The banner skin is also finished with keder and coated with anti-graffiti laminate to prevent vandalism and damage.
  • A 3D illuminated “YORK” lettering that stands out from the banner skin and creates a striking visual effect. The lettering is made of acrylic material with LED lights inside, and is mounted on a metal frame that is attached to the hoarding structure.
  • A plywood hoarding structure that supports the banner skin and the lettering, and provides security and protection for the site. The plywood hoarding structure is painted in black to create a contrast with the banner skin and the lettering, and to match the colour scheme of the project. The plywood hoarding structure is also built by Joyprint, who have the appropriate QBCC licence to do so.

The Printing Process

The printing process for the hoarding signage was done at Joyprint’s state-of-the-art facility, using the latest cutting-edge printing technology and vinyl materials. The banner skin was printed on a large-format digital printer that can produce high-resolution images and vibrant colours. The banner skin was then cut to size and finished with keder for easy installation.

The Installation Process

The installation process for the hoarding signage was done by Joyprint’s experienced and accredited installers, who followed the safety and quality standards of the industry. The installation process involved the following steps:

  • Erecting the plywood hoarding structure on the site, using screws and bolts to secure it to the ground and to each other. The plywood hoarding structure was also reinforced with metal braces and supports to ensure its stability and strength.
  • Attaching the banner skin to the plywood hoarding structure, using sail tracks to stretch and align it properly.
  • Mounting the 3D illuminated “YORK” lettering on the banner skin, using metal brackets and screws to position and secure it. The lettering was then connected to a power source and switched on to illuminate the hoarding signage.
